Jesska grew up in rural Vermont on a hundred acres. She has spent much time outdoors and has a special connection with animals. She moved to Colorado in the summer of 2006 and began experimenting with photography in 2007. She is also a knitwear designer with a knitting pattern business she started in 2009. She also enjoys painting with oil and watercolor. Her creative career has led her to return to school for a bachelor's degree in graphic design, as she is also passionate about digital design and illustration.

These photographs are representative of the things that are most important in my life. I am a caretaker of horses and find their energy therapeutic. Their huge eyes and huge hearts make them such unique animals, and I am captivated by their beauty. As I enjoy hiking, it is essential for me to recharge by spending time in nature. I love taking my camera out while exploring new and old places and capturing the moments in time that will inevitably change through the seasons. Food photography is a particular passion of mine because I enjoy cooking and baking. I love the way that photography can make a meal look so appetizing. As an aspiring graphic designer, I recognize patterns and design in places most people might not. It is important to me to capture objects that most people may find lifeless and give them life. Lastly, I am a knitwear designer who enjoys fiber and textiles. Because of my love for animals, I am grateful for the animals that provide the wool and yarn that I use to create my craft.
