Biography
Joe Nalven is the co-author of Going Digital: The Practice and Vision of Digital Artists (2005). He was a co-founder of The Digital Art Guild. Currently, Nalven is fascinated with reimagining his earlier images. With DALL%C2%B7EE 2 building on earlier digital tools, artists should be asking what makes this image any better (or different?) than what I did before or what an AI can configure? In these images, I've reimagined with layers of composites (8 rabbis); I've reimagined Lilith more mystical with several enveloping filters; I've reimagined a girl in a laundry in Bergamo, Italy by fragmenting her and her environment. I've played with color and density. I may seek added texture by incorporating them into my fused glass experiments. DA is our yellow brick road with many off ramps and many on ramps. And we can drive this road forward or backwards. Something that DALL%C2%B7EE 2 has yet to appreciate. Soon, but not yet.
